December 2005 Archives
It is Saturday morning and I still don't have the two doors installed. After waiting 'til 12:30pm yesterday, I finally get a call from the installer saying that the doors are out of stock. What?!? I had placed my order three weeks ago and was told all the doors were in stock. My patience is wearing thin. Now I have to come back by Monday early afternoon for them to finish my doors. Those doors better be installed on Monday or I'm going on a rampage.
One of the bathroom doors to the master bedroom is missing and a closet door. Granted I live alone and it's no big deal if I don't have a bathroom door, but if I had company I'm sure they wouldn't feel comfortable using the facilities without some privacy. At least the master bedroom door is installed, so if worse came to worse you can at least lock that door, but still that just seems silly. Putting up a shower curtain in the doorless entry could be an option, but who wants everyone to hear them doing their business? I have trouble going to a public restroom with other people in stalls next to me, but that's besides the point. It's not worth stressing about 'cause I'm ready to head out of town and celebrate Christmas with my friends and family.
I'm getting my interior doors installed right now as I'm writing in my blog. It's freezing in here 'cause my front door is open so that the installer can move the old doors out as he's tearing them down. He's just informed me that it may take more than a day to install the doors...great. I was a bit skeptical that they'd be able to install all seven doors in four hours, but when I set up my appointment the guy I talked to on the phone said that's all it would take. Right. I should have questioned him more on it. It looks like I may have to hang around 'til Friday afternoon for them to finish the job. And they can't come until the afternoon either. My plan was to head down to chinatown to pick up all the food my dad had asked me to get Friday morning and head to GB in the afternoon. Oh well, I guess I'll be leaving Saturday morning instead.
I'd really like to take a nap right now, but with all the banging going around it's a little difficult to get some rest. For some reason I woke up around 4:30am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. I contemplated getting out of bed and going to work at 5:30am, but it was too cold and dark so I waited until 6am when my alarm went off.
Anyways, enough of my rambling...for anyone who'll be traveling over the holidays, have a safe journey and stay warm. Warm wishes to everyone on a holly jolly holiday season with your friends and family:-)
