The Ending Before the Preview

My thoughts on the winter Olympics so far is it would be so much more exciting if the news media didn't spoil the endings. I can't read the news without seeing the results plastered all over the front page. Talk about spoiling all the excitement. What happened to common courtesy for those who want to watch the Olympics and not know who's getting the gold until the very end? The sport I enjoy watching the most would have to be figure skating. Pairs figure skating always makes me nervous when they do the risky lifts. But the more risk there is usually the more excitement.

One show I will watch the ending for is Dancing with the Stars. Before the last three remaining couples, I thought Stacy and Tony were a sure bet to win the competition, but now after their best dance and freestyle I think Drew and Cheryl will win based on their performances.

I'm not sure if I'll watch the Oscars 'til the end or even at all since I've not seen any of the nominated movies except for Crash, which I did like. But I'll guess who the winners will be anyways. Best Actor - Joaquin Phoenix; Best Actress - Felicity Huffman; Best Supporting Actor - George Clooney; Best Supporting Actress - Frances McDormand; Best Picture - Brokeback Mountain; Best Director - Ang Lee. I would give best visual effects to Narnia, which I thought were really good, but I haven't seen King Kong and that seems like a contender. War of the Worlds to me was one big nightmare and I didn't enjoy the visual effects in it either.

I understand your disappointment about the spoilers, but the media has a responsibility to report the news as it happens. It is not responsible for conforming to NBC's decision to chop down then delay certain popular events into primetime-sized chunks. Personally, I don't mind knowing who won. It's still fun watching the athletes do their thang.

Yea, spoilers suck. But figure skating is so fun to watch, it doesn't matter about the results. I though Sasha Cohen's short program was amazing and brilliant, and she doesn't skate like a robot like the others. Too bad her long was subpar.
