Happy New Year!
Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a nice holiday. Mine's was nice and relaxing... don't know if I'm ready to go back to work though. What a year 2007 has been for me. It's been an adventure coming out here to Vancouver and not all what I expected. Looking back, this past year has been challenging for me. I can't say it was all fun and easy, but I've definitely learned a lot.
2007 was a challenging year for most Americans with the downturn in the economy and 2008 may continue to be a tough year. Hopefully things will get better soon. This year should be an exciting one nonetheless with the U.S. presidential elections taking place and the summer Olympics in Beijing. I'm looking forward to this year and wish you all a great year ahead.
I don't know when my next trip to Chicago will be, but I hope you all consider coming to Vancouver when making your trip plans! I'd like to go to Alaska this year. If anyone is interested let me know. There's still a lot I'd like to see around Vancouver also.
Over Christmas, we celebrated my Grandma's birthday in Green Bay at the restaurant. Surprisingly, there were quite a steady stream of customers coming in (probably because it was the only restaurant open on Christmas day.) Sarah made a yummy three-layer tiramisu cake, I made potato salad and my mom made tons of food. Exercising definitely needs to be one of my new year's resolutions.
Cheers to 2008! May you all have a fantastic year!
