Halloween in L.A.
Halloween is an amazing spectacle in L.A. Perhaps the only other place where I’ve seen it to be such a big event is in Madison, WI. Although that was at a much smaller scale compared to the thousands of people that came out to party on the streets of L.A. The costumes were amazing and this avatar looked as if he had stepped right off the set of the movie.

AYCE Korean BBQ
For almost a week after returning from India, I was struggling with overcoming the jet lag, which seemed to have thrown off my appetite. I skipped meals because I wasn’t hungry and when I did try to eat, I could only eat a little and feel full immediately. It was the worst feeling for someone who loves food! So when we went out to all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ on the second night in L.A. and stuffed ourselves full until we had the meat sweats, I was happy to declare that my appetite was finally back.

From Bollywood to Hollywood
Only being back for five days, I went off to L.A. for our annual JLC trip — short for Joy Luck Club — with my cousins and sister. Somehow our annual get togethers have been named after Amy Tan’s classic novel and this year’s was JLC #4, though we have only had three trips together (don’t ask how we came up with this numbering scheme.) Merles had just moved to L.A. earlier this year and it seemed logical to meet up in what my sis calls lala land. This photo was taken during sunset at the Griffith Observatory.
