Jana's Boots
As a team activity, we decided to drive an hour and a half east from Vancouver to Harrison Mills to catch the Salmon migration and the bald eagles nearby. Although it was sunny, it was quite nippy out. Those of us who brought our cameras were shooting away mostly at the trees and water. I happened to catch Jana’s trendy boots and had to take a photo.

Animated Light Projection
This photo was taken at Yaletown Illuminate — an event that showcased light installations and projections by artists in Vancouver. I enjoyed watching this animated light projection which seemed to tell a story of factory workers manufacturing designer doggy bags for women who liked the finer things in life.

Capilano Suspension Bridge
I arrived here 30 minutes before it was scheduled to close and the light was falling fast. I’d been here many times before, but this was the first time I took a photo of the bridge I liked. The light at dusk creates a more dramatic scene giving the trees more depth and dimension. I like how they seem to swallow the bridge.

Chinese New Year Outfits
A Chinese New Year celebration at the International Village in Vancouver’s chinatown took place over the weekend. Dance performances along with booths selling all sorts of knick knacks and toys were at the event. It seemed that everyone wanted to get a Chinese New Year’s outfit to celebrate the occasion.

Vancouver Street Party
While in downtown I noticed a street being blocked off and thought they were filming something, which is quite common here in Vancouver. But to my surprise it was a carnival type celebration with music, drums and dancers in full costume. I followed the parade a couple blocks taking pictures of the street party as people gathered around to do the same. It was nice to see the colorful costumes and witness the festive event.
