The Bean

Over the holidays I was in Chicago and had the chance to see the metallic looking kidney bean in Millenium Park. It’s always fun taking pictures of it. The actual name of this piece is called Cloud Gate and is by the artist Anish Kapoor. The sculpture is supposed to act as a gate between the sky and viewer. It is described as a sort of passage way between realms. The fun part of viewing this sculpture is seeing the distorted reflections in it, kind of like those fun house mirrors you see in an amusement park except at a much larger scale.
